Instructor: Sue Jordan RN, BAN, CCAP (Certified Clinical Aromatherapy Practitioner)
This is a basic class for those who know nothing or “a little” about essential oils, how to use them, and always wanted to know more. Class participants will learn: modern history of clinical aromatherapy; how essential oils get into our body; why/how they are therapeutic. You will learn about some “essentials” to have in your medicine cabinet and a clinical application for each. Materials will be provided to make a nasal inhaler to take home. Join us as we come together to talk about this ancient complementary therapy that offers natural fragrances and has a scientific explanation for how essential oils can help support our health.
About Sue Jordan: Sue has been an RN for 49 years and has enjoyed a spectacular and varied career! She has been using essential oils as a complementary option for health and well-being since 2004. Sue became a CCAP-certified clinical aromatherapy practitioner in 2014. She is passionate about aromatherapy education so that this precious option can be used safely and effectively. Sue was invited to create clinical aromatherapy programs at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis and at the Northern Arizona VA Health Care System in Prescott, AZ. The use of aromatherapy benefitted hospice patients and veterans in a variety of ways. Some of you may recognize Sue from having taught aromatherapy at Nectar Apothecary in downtown Prescott for five years.
